ITCZ to bring scattered rains over southern Mindanao

The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is affecting southern Mindanao on Monday, according to PAGASA's weather forecast.

The Davao Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, SOCCSKSARGEN, and BARMM will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ. Moderate to at times heavy rains may possibly result in flash floods or landslides.

The Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, Romblon, and Palawan may expect cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies. Flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley meanwhile will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan). No significant impact however is expected.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country on the other hand will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may possibly result.

Coastal waters will be moderate in the eastern section of the country, and slight to moderate in the rest of the country.

Sunrise was at 5:58 a.m. while sunset will be at 6:07 p.m. —KG, GMA Integrated News
