PAGASA says final surges of Amihan signals start of warm, dry season
The final surge of the Northeast Monsoon (amihan) is currently being felt over Luzon, signalling that the warm and dry season will start soon.
According to a "24 Oras" weather report on Thursday, the Northeast Monsoon is gradually retreating to make way for the “warm and dry season.”
Starting Monday, parts of the country are expected to feel the Northeast Monsoon less than usual.
However, even before the warm and dry season starts several areas, particularly in some areas of Mindanao are experiencing a heat index reaching from 40°C to 41°C.
Based on the Metro Weather, there will also be high chances of rain over the Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, Southern Luzon, Bicol Region, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Flash floods or landslides may be expected over some parts of the country. — Jiselle Anne Casucian/BAP, GMA Integrated News
