Heat index: No areas in ‘danger level’ category forecast for Monday, March 17, 2025

No area in the country is expected to reach the “danger level” of the heat index on Monday, PAGASA said in a forecast.
PAGASA classifies a heat index between 42°C and 51°C in the “danger” category, posing health risks such as heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.

Based on its 5 p.m. March 16 bulletin, the state weather bureau said the highest temperature in the country will be 41°C on Monday.
The following areas are seen to experience a 41°C temperature:
- Coron, Palawan
- Puerto Princesa City, Palawan
- Catbalogan, Western Samar
- Guiuan, Eastern Samar
In Metro Manila, a 38°C temperature is expected to be measured by the synoptic stations in NAIA Pasay City and Science Garden, Quezon City.
A heat index from 33°C to 41°C is in the “extreme caution” category, where heat cramps and heat exhaustion are possible, and continuing activity could lead to heat stroke
The heat index measures how hot it feels to the human body, factoring in humidity along with the actual air temperature.
