Easterlies, Amihan to bring rains, cloudy skies over parts of PH

The easterlies and Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) are expected to bring rains over several areas in the country in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Sunday afternoon.
In its 4 p.m. weather forecast, the state weather bureau said cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will persist over Northern Samar, Albay, Sorsogon, Catanduanes, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi due to the easterlies.
These moderate to at times heavy rains may trigger flash floods or landslides.
Batanes, Cagayan, and Isabela will see cloudy skies with light rains due to the Amihan.
It will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Cordillera Administrative Region, the Ilocos Region and the rest of Cagayan Valley.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will be observed over Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to the easterlies.
These severe thunderstorms may cause flash floods or landslides.
State meteorologists also said winds will be moderate to strong while coastal waters will be moderate to rough in extreme Northern Luzon.
Central Luzon and the rest of Northern Luzon will see moderate to strong wind conditions and moderate to rough coastal water conditions.
Meanwhile, winds will be light to moderate while coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the rest of the country.
Sunrise in Metro Manila will be 6:03 a.m, on Monday.—Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
