Shear line to bring rains over parts of Luzon


A shear line affecting Northern Luzon and the eastern section of Central Luzon will bring rains over these areas on Monday, according to PAGASA's weather forecast.

The Cordillera Administrative Region, Mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, and Albay will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms. Moderate to at times heavy rains may possibly result in flash floods or landslides.

The Ilocos Region may expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) meanwhile is affecting Extreme Northern Luzon. Batanes and Babuyan Islands will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, but no significant impact is expected.

The easterlies on the other hand will affect the rest of the country.

Caraga, Davao Region, Northern Mindanao, SOCCSKSARGEN, Eastern Samar, Leyte, and Southern Leyte will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms. The rains, which may be moderate to at times heavy, may possibly cause flash floods or landslides.

As for Metro Manila and the rest of the country, these areas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. During severe thunderstorms, some areas may have flash floods or landslides.

Coastal waters will be moderate to rough in Extreme Northern Luzon and the eastern section of Luzon, and slight to moderate in the rest of the country.
