Cloudy skies, rains expected in parts of PH due to shear line, amihan

The shear line will bring rains over the eastern section of Visayas while the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) will affect Luzon, PAGASA said Tuesday afternoon.

In its weather forecast, the state weather bureau said cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms will persist over Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Zamboanga Peninsula due to the shear line.

The rest of Mindanao will see cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

Cloudy skies with rains will be observed over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, and Quezon due to the Amihan while moderate to at times heavy rains may trigger flash floods and landslides.

The Amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and the rest of the Visayas.

State meteorologists also said Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas will experience strong wind conditions and rough coastal water conditions.

Winds will be moderate to strong while coastal waters will be moderate to rough throughout the rest of Luzon and Visayas, and the northern and eastern sections of Mindanao.

Meanwhile, the rest of Mindanao will see light to moderate wind conditions and slight to moderate coastal water conditions.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BAP, GMA Integrated News
