Moderate to heavy rains affect parts of Metro Manila, Bulacan, Rizal, Nueva Ecija

Parts of Metro Manila, Bulacan, Rizal, and Nueva Ecija experienced moderate to heavy rains with lightning and strong winds Monday afternoon, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

In an updated advisory issued at 1:58 p.m., PAGASA said the affected areas are:

• Quezon City, Caloocan, Valenzuela, Makati, Marikina, Pasig, Mandaluyong, San Juan, and Manila in Metro Manila
• San Jose del Monte, Meycauayan, Marilao, Santa Maria, Obando, Paombong, Malolos, Bocaue, Bulakan, Guiguinto, Balagtas, Pandi, and Norzagaray in Bulacan
• San Mateo, Rodriguez, Antipolo, and Cainta in Rizal, and
• Cabanatuan and Palayan in Nueva Ecija.

It added the weather condition may persist within the next two hours.

Meanwhile, Tarlac, Pampanga, Zambales, Quezon, Bataan, Cavite, Laguna, and Batangas may experience the same within the next two hours.

PAGASA warned affected residents against flash floods and landslides caused by the heavy downpour.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
