Shear line, ITCZ, easterlies to bring clouds, rains over parts of PH

Shear line, ITCZ, easterlies to bring clouds, rains over parts of PH

A shear line, Intertropical Convergence Zone, and the easterlies will bring clouds and rains over parts of the country on Sunday, according to PAGASA's weather forecast.

Extreme Northern Luzon is being affected by a shear line. Batanes and Babuyan Islands will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms. Moderate to at times heavy rains may possibly result in flash floods or landslides.

The Davao Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, Sultan Kudarat, South Cotabato, and Sarangani may expect cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms caused by the ITCZ, the area where winds from the northern and southern hemisphere meet. Flash floods or landslides may possibly occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, and Quezon meanwhile will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies. The rains, which may be moderate to heavy, may cause flash floods or landslides.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country on the other hand may expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may occur.

PAGASA said as of 2 a.m. Sunday, no low pressure area has been monitored that may develop into a tropical cyclone.

Coastal waters will be moderate in Northern Luzon, and slight to moderate in the rest of the country.
