3 weather systems to bring rain in parts of PH on Valentine’s Day


Several parts of the country could experience a rainy Valentine’s Day according to PAGASA.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the state weather bureau said the Shear Line will affect Northern Luzon, the Easterlies will affect the eastern sections of Luzon and Visayas, and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will bring rain over Mindanao.

Cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms are predicted over Batanes and Babuyan Islands as caused by the Shear Line.

Similar weather conditions are expected in the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, and Quezon due to the Easterlies.

The ITCZ means cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Davao Region. The rest of Mindanao will have Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the Easterlies.

Extreme Northern Luzon will have strong winds coming from the northeast, with rough coastal water conditions.

Temperature will reach a high of 30.9 °C at 12:00 p.m. and a had a low of 23.8 °C at 4:40 a.m.
