Amihan, easterlies to bring rain in several PH regions

The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) will bring rain over Northern Luzon while the easterlies will continue to affect the rest of the country in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Sunday afternoon.

In its weather forecast, the state weather bureau said cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will persist over Mindanao due to the easterlies.

These moderate to at times heavy rains may cause flash floods or landslides.

Batanes, Cagayan, and Apayao will experience cloudy skies with light rains due to the Amihan, with no significant weather impact expected.

The easterlies will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

These conditions may result in severe thunderstorms that could trigger flash floods or landslides.

State meteorologists also said Northern Luzon and the eastern section of Mindanao will experience moderate to strong wind conditions and moderate to rough coastal water conditions.

Winds will be light to moderate and coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the rest of the country.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 6:24 p.m. on Monday. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
