La Trinidad, Benguet records temperature low of 12.9°C
Temperatures in La Trinidad, Benguet, dropped to a chilly 12.9°C on Monday, according to PAGASA’s Benguet Radar Station.
Meanwhile, Mount Santo Tomas in Tuba, Benguet, recorded an even lower temperature of 12.1°C.
A Balitanghali report indicated that the Philippines could experience colder temperatures as the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) has reached its peak.
PAGASA also recorded the following temperatures in other areas:
- Baguio City: 15.0°C
- Malaybalay, Bukidnon: 19.0°C
- Itbayat, Batanes: 19.3°C
- Quezon City: 24.7°C
The state weather bureau noted that the Amihan season started later than usual due to consecutive tropical storms that struck the country last year.
Normally, temperatures drop by late December or early January.
