Shear line, easterlies, Amihan to bring rains over several areas

A shear line, easterlies, and the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) will bring rains over several areas on Monday, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.

Eastern Visayas, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, and Quezon will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line. Moderate to heavy rains may possibly lead to flash floods or landslides.

Quezon, Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, and Northern Samar will have moderate to heavy rains measuring from 50 to 100 mm of rainfall.

Caraga and Davao Region may expect cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies. Flash floods or landslides may result due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, and Rizal will have cloudy skies with rains due to the Amihan. The rains, which will be moderate to at times heavy, may result in flash floods or landslides in some areas.

The rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon.

The rest of the country meanwhile may have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may occur.

Coastal waters will be rough to very rough in Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and Visayas.

The rest of Luzon and Visayas will have moderate to rough coastal waters, while the rest of the country will enjoy slight to moderate waters.
