Moderate to heavy rains expected in Bicol, other areas due to shear line

The Bicol Region, Mimaropa, Eastern Visayas and Quezon will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms on Sunday due to the shear line, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.

Flash floods or landslides may possibly occur due to moderate to heavy rains.

In its heavy rainfall outlook issued at 5 a.m., PAGASA said moderate to heavy rains measuring from 50 to 100 mm may be expected today over Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, and Northern Samar due to the shear line.

Caraga, Davao Region, Sarangani, and South Cotabato meanwhile will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies. Moderate to at times heavy rains may possibly result in flash floods or landslides.

The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) is affecting the rest of Luzon, PAGASA said.

Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora will have cloudy skies with rains due to the monsoon. Flash floods or landslides may possibly result due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the Amihan. No significant impact is expected.

The rest of Visayas and of Mindanao on the other hand are being affected by the easterlies and may have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may result.

Coastal waters will be rough to very rough in Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon.

The rest of Luzon and Visayas will have moderate to rough coastal waters, while the rest of the country will enjoy slight to moderate coastal waters.
