Cloudy skies, rains expected in most parts of PH
The shear line and the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) will affect most parts of the country in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Thursday afternoon.
In its weather forecast, the state weather bureau said Visayas, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Quezon, and Dinagat Islands will observe cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line.
Residents of affected areas were warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy with at times intense rains.
Meanwhile, Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and Central Luzon will experience cloudy skies with rains due to the Amihan.
These moderate to at times heavy rains may trigger flash floods or landslides.
The Amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, with no significant weather impact expected.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will persist over the rest of Mindanao due to localized thunderstorms.
These conditions may result in severe thunderstorms that could trigger flash floods or landslides.
State meteorologists also said winds will be strong to gale while coastal waters will be rough to very rough in the northern section of Northern Luzon.
The eastern sections of Luzon and Visayas will experience moderate to strong wind conditions and moderate to rough coastal water conditions.
Winds will be light to moderate while coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the rest of the country.
Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 6:24 a.m. on Friday. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/VBL, GMA Integrated News
