Cloudy skies, rains over Luzon on Feast Day of Jesus Nazareno due to shear line, amihan

The Shear Line will be affecting the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas while the Northeast Monsoon (amihan) will affect Northern and Central Luzon including Metro Manila on Thursday, PAGASA reported.

Visayas, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Quezon, and Dinagat Islands will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the Shear Line with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur due to moderate to heavy with at times intense rains.

Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Central Luzon will have cloudy skies with rains due to the Northeast Monsoon. Flash floods or landslides may possibly occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon but with no significant impact.

The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may occur.

The wind speed forecast for northern and eastern sections of Luzon is moderate to strong moving northeastward and coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The eastern section of Visayas will have moderate to strong winds moving in the east to northeast direction with moderate to rough coastal waters.
