Amihan, shear line to bring rainy weather over parts of Luzon

The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) and the shear line will continue to bring cloudy skies and rains over Luzon in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Tuesday afternoon.

In a forecast, the state weather bureau said Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Central Luzon will experience cloudy skies with rains due to the Amihan.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, and Eastern Visayas due to the shear line.

These moderate to at times heavy to at times heavy rains may trigger flash floods or landslides.

The Amihan will also cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region. PAGASA said these weather conditions have no significant expected impact.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will observe partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

These severe thunderstorms may cause flash floods or landslides.

State meteorologists also said the northern and eastern sections of Luzon will see strong wind conditions and rough coastal water conditions.

Winds will be moderate to strong while coastal waters will be moderate to rough in the eastern section of Visayas.

Meanwhile, winds will be light to moderate while coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the rest of the country.

Sunrise will be 6:23 a.m. on Wednesday. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
