Rains in parts of PH on New Year's Eve due to four weather systems


Four weather systems to bring cloudy skies, rains over parts of PH

At least four weather systems will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over parts of the Philippines on Tuesday, PAGASA reported.

The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will be affecting Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan while the shear line will affect the eastern section of Northern Luzon as the northeast monsoon (amihan) continues to affect the rest of Northern Luzon.

Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Negros Island Region, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, and Palawan will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur due to moderate to heavy rains

Quezon and the rest of Bicol Region will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms duwe to the easterlies with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur due to moderate to heavy rains.

Batanes, Cagayan, and Apayao will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Ilocos Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, and the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon but this will have no significant impact.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur during severe thunderstorms.

The northern and western sections of Northern Luzon will exprience moderate to strong wind speed moving northeastward with moderate to rough coastal waters.

The eastern sections of Luzon and Visayas will experience moderate to strong wind speed moving in the east to northeast direction with moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the northeast to east direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
