Shear line, ITCZ, Amihan to bring rain across PH
PAGASA continues to monitor the tropical depression (formerly Romina) outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility as four weather systems will bring cloudy skies and rains over parts of the country.
According to the daily weather forecast on Wednesday afternoon, the tropical cyclone was last seen moving south southwestward at 15 km/h and located 475 kilometers west southwest of Kalayaan, Palawan, as of 3 p.m.
It has maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h and gustiness of up to 55 km/h.
The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, and Eastern Visayas, while the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will cause cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Region, and SOCCSKSARGEN.
The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) will bring cloudy skies with rains over the Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region.
The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
Flash floods and landslides are possible due to moderate to at times heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, strong winds with rough seas may be expected in Northern Luzon.
Visayas, the rest of Luzon, and the northeastern section of Mindanao will have moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough coastal waters, while the rest of Mindanao will feel light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters.
Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 6:18 a.m. on Thursday. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News
