LPA, shear line, amihan to bring cloudy skies, rains over parts of PH

The Low Pressure Area (LPA) [formerly "QUERUBIN"], shear line, amihan to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over parts of the country on Thursday, PAGASA reported.

At 3 a.m. on Wednesday, LPA was estimated at 245 kilometers east of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte, the Shear Line will be affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon while the Northeast Monsoon (amihan) will affect the rest of Luzon.

Eastern Visayas and Caraga will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the LPA with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur due to moderate to heavy with at times intense rains.

The rest of Visayas and Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the trough of the LPA with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur due to moderate to heavy with at times intense rains.

Bicol Region and Quezon will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the Shear Line with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur due to moderate to heavy rains.

Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon but this will have no significant impact.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon but this will have no significant impact.

The northern and western sections of Northern Luzon will experience strong to gale wind speed moving northeastward with rough to very rough coastal waters.

The eastern section of the country will experience moderate to strong wind speed moving northeastward with moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the northeast to northwest direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
