PAGASA: LPA inside PAR may become a tropical cyclone anew
The low-pressure area that used to be Tropical Depression Querubin has a "medium chance" of again becoming a tropical cyclone, PAGASA has said.
The LPA was spotted 245 kilometers east-southeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar on Wednesday night.
“At 8:00 p.m. today, the low-pressure area being monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has a medium chance of development into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours,” said PAGASA in an advisory.
Querubin weakened into an LPA at 2 p.m. on Wednesday causing the lifting of all prevailing wind signals hoisted earlier.
PAGASA warned that it could still regain strength in the coming hours.
The state weather bureau said the LPA would bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region.
The rest of Visayas and Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the trough of the LPA. —NB, GMA Integrated News
