Shearline, Amihan to keep bringing rain over Luzon

A Shearline will continue to bring rain over the eastern section of  Southern Luzon and the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) will keep affecting the rest of Luzon in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Sunday afternoon.

In its forecast, the state weather bureau said the Bicol Region and  Eastern Visayas will see cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the shear line.

Meanwhile, the Amihan will bring cloudy skies with rains over the Cagayan Valley, Cordillera  Administrative Region, Aurora, and Quezon.

The Amihan will also affect Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon. PAGASA said this weather condition will have no significant impact.

The Caraga and Davao  Regions will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

These moderate to at times heavy rains may trigger flash floods or landslides.

The ITCZ will also cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the rest of Mindanao.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or  thunderstorms will persist over the rest of the Visayas due to localized  thunderstorms.

Residents of affected areas were warned of possible flash floods or landslides during these severe thunderstorms.

State meteorologists also said winds will be strong while coastal waters will be rough in Northern and Central Luzon.

The rest of Luzon and the eastern section of the Visayas will experience moderate to strong wind conditions and moderate to strong coastal water conditions.

Winds will be light to moderate and coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the rest of the country.

Sunrise will be at 6:13 a.m. on Monday. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
