Cloudy skies to prevail over Luzon due to shear line, Amihan

Cloudy skies with rains may be experienced over Northern and Southern Luzon due to the shear line and Northeast Monsoon (Amihan), the state weather bureau PAGASA said Saturday.

Based on the 4 p.m. weather forecast, PAGASA said cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms may prevail over Quezon and Bicol Region due to the shear line.

In Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, and Aurora, cloudy skies with rains are expected because of the Northeast Monsoon.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon, with no significant impact expected.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to easterlies.

Northern Luzon may experience strong to gale winds while the coastal waters will be rough to very rough.

Central Luzon will have moderate to strong winds, and the coastal waters will be moderate to strong.

The rest of the country will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.

The sun will rise over Metro Manila at 6:13 a.m. on Sunday. — Sherylin Untalan/VBL, GMA Integrated News
