PAGASA: 3 weather systems to bring rains over parts of PH
An Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), shear line, and the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) will continue to bring rains over several areas of the country in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Sunday afternoon.
In its forecast, the state weather bureau said Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan will see cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ, which is an area where the winds from the Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere meet.
Meanwhile, the shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, Marinduque, Romblon, Oriental Mindoro, Laguna, Rizal, Quezon, and Aurora.
Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region will experience cloudy skies with rains due to Amihan.
These moderate to at times heavy rains may trigger flash floods or landslides.
The Amihan will also cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains in the Ilocos Region and the rest of Central Luzon. PAGASA said this weather condition will have no significant impact.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will observe partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
These severe thunderstorms may trigger flash floods or landslides.
State meteorologists also said northern Luzon may experience strong to gale winds and rough to very rough coastal water conditions.
Winds will be moderate to strong and coastal waters will be moderate to rough throughout the rest of Luzon.
Meanwhile, Visayas and Mindanao will see light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal water conditions.
Sunrise will be at 6:09 a.m. on Monday. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
