PAGASA: Up to 2 cyclones expected in PAR in December

One to two tropical cyclones may develop in the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) this December, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.

These tropical cyclones may veer away from the Philippine landmass or make landfall over Luzon, the Visayas, or Mindanao, GMA Integrated News’ Unang Balita reported on Monday.

Meanwhile, PAGASA said the shear line and the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan on Monday will bring rains over parts of Luzon and Visayas.

Due to the shear line, cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected over Metro Manila, Mimaropa, Calabarzon, the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Western Visayas, Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, and Bulacan on Monday.

Moderate to at times heavy rains may possibly result in flash floods or landslides.

Due to Amihan, cloudy skies with rains may be experienced over the rest of Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region.

Flash floods or landslides may possibly result due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains are expected over Ilocos Region and the rest of Central Luzon.

Due to localized thunderstorms, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may be experienced over the rest of the country.

Severe thunderstorms may result in flash floods or landslides may result. — Joviland Rita/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
