PAGASA: Two weather systems affecting Luzon

PAGASA: Two weather systems affecting Luzon

The shear line will continue to bring rains over Southern Luzon while the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) will keep affecting the rest of Luzon in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Sunday.

In its forecast, the state weather bureau said Metro Manila, MIMAROPA, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Western Visayas, Bulacan, Negros Occidental, and Cebu may see cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line.

The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) may bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over SOCCSKSARGEN, Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao Occidental, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

Cloudy skies with rains may persist over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora due to the Amihan.

These moderate to at times heavy rains may trigger flash floods or landslides.

The Amihan will also cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Ilocos Region and the rest of Central Luzon. PAGASA said this weather condition will have no significant impact.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

These severe thunderstorms may cause flash floods or landslides.

State meteorologists said the eastern section of Luzon may see strong wind and rough coastal conditions.

Winds will be moderate to strong while coastal waters will be moderate to rough throughout the rest of Luzon.

Winds will be light to moderate while coastal waters will be slight to moderate over Visayas and Mindanao.

Sunrise will be at 6:05 a.m. on Monday. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BAP, GMA Integrated News
