Amihan to affect N. Luzon; ITCZ to bring rains over Mindanao

The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) will affect Northern Luzon while the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will continue to bring rains over Mindanao in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Monday afternoon.

In its forecast, the state weather bureau said Mindanao will see cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ.

Meanwhile, the Amihan will bring cloudy skies with rains over Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora.

These moderate to at times heavy rains may trigger possible flash floods or landslides.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

Residents of affected areas were warned of possible flash floods or landslides during these severe thunderstorms.

State meteorologists also said Northern Luzon will experience moderate to strong wind conditions and moderate to rough coastal water conditions.

Winds will be light to moderate while coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the country.
