PAGASA: Northeast monsoon, easterlies to bring rains in parts of PH

Rains will be experienced in parts of the country due to the northeast monsoon affecting extreme northern Luzon and the easterlies over the eastern section, PAGASA said in its 4 a.m. weather bulletin Wednesday.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms.

Due to the northeast monsoon, Batanes will have cloudy skies with rains, while Babuyan Island will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms brought by the shear line.

The rest of Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies caused by easterlies.  Possible flashfloods or landslides may occur due to heavy rains, PAGASA said.

Meanwhile, Tropical Depression Man-Yi (formerly Pepito) continues to weaken outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).  It is moving southwestward at 20 kilometers per hour.

PAGASA said it is not monitoring any low pressure area outside PAR.

For its three-day forecast, on November 21, Thursday, scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected over Batanes and Babuyan Islands, while the rest of the country will have isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

On Friday, November 22, and Saturday, November 23, scattered rains and thunderstorms will be experienced over Davao Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Palawan, and Cagayan.  The rest of the country will have isolated thunderstoms. —LDF, GMA Integrated News
