4 areas under Signal No. 5 as Pepito crosses CamSur waters
Four areas are now under Signal No. 5 as Super Typhoon Pepito (international name: Man-Yi) continues to travel west northwest, according to PAGASA's 2 a.m. Sunday bulletin.
Under Signal No. 5 are the northern portion of Catanduanes (Pandan, Bagamanoc, Panganiban, Viga, Caramoran), the northeastern portion of Camarines Sur (Caramoan, Garchitorena, Lagonoy, Presentacion), Calaguas Islands, and the eastern portion of Polillo Islands (Patnanungan, Jomalig).
Signal No. 4 was hoisted over the following areas:
- the northernmost portion of Albay (Tiwi)
- the eastern portion of Camarines Sur (Siruma, Tinambac, Goa, San Jose, Tigaon, Sagñay, Calabanga)
- the rest of Camarines Norte
- the rest of Catanduanes
- the rest of Pollilo Islands
Signal No. 3 was raised over the following areas:
- the northeastern portion of Sorsogon (Prieto Diaz, City of Sorsogon, Gubat)
- the rest of Albay
- the rest of Camarines Sur

''It must be emphasized that heavy rainfall, severe winds, and storm surge may still be experienced in localities outside the landfall point and the forecast confidence cone,'' PAGASA said.
At 1 a.m., Pepito was located over the coastal waters of Caramoan, Camarines Sur, with maximum sustained winds of 185 km/h and gustiness of up to 280 km/h.
The typhoon was traveling west northwestward at 10 km/h.
''Pepito will move move west northwestward over the waters north of Camarines Provinces (with a landfall or close approach over Calaguas Islands not ruled out) until this morning. It will then pass close or over Polillo Islands between this morning and noon, before making landfall over northern Quezon or central or southern Aurora between this noon and afternoon," PAGASA said.
''Afterwards, Pepito will cross the northern portion of Central Luzon and the southern portion of Northern Luzon along the upland areas of Sierra Madre, Caraballo, and Cordillera Central between this afternoon and evening. Pepito will emerge over the coastal waters of Pangasinan or La Union tonight or tomorrow (18 November) early morning,'' it added.
Pepito may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Monday morning or afternoon. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
