Ofel makes landfall over Baggao, Cagayan

Typhoon Ofel made landfall in the vicinity of Baggao, Cagayan on Thursday afternoon, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

“At 1:30 PM today, the center of the eye of Typhoon #OfelPH made landfall in the vicinity of Baggao, Cagayan. All are advised to monitor updates from DOST-PAGASA,” PAGASA said on Facebook.

Ofel was downgraded into a typhoon from a super typhoon. 

In its 11 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals are raised in the following areas:

• The northeastern portion of mainland Cagayan (Santa Ana, Gonzaga)

Signal No. 4

• Babuyan Islands
• the northern and eastern portions of mainland Cagayan (Santa Teresita, Ballesteros, Aparri, Camalaniugan, Buguey, Lal-Lo, Allacapan, Gattaran, Baggao, Peñablanca)
• the northeastern portion of Isabela (Maconacon, Divilacan, Palanan)
