LPA east of northeastern Mindanao may enter PAR Tuesday
A low pressure area (LPA) located east of northeastern Mindanao may become a tropical depression within 24 hours and enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Tuesday, PAGASA said.
At 2 a.m. Sunday, the LPA was estimated to be located at 2,365 km east of northeastern Mindanao.
The LPA may possibly enter PAR by Tuesday early morning, according to DOST-PAGASA weather specialist Grace Castañeda in the weather bureau's public briefing.
"Nakikita po natin na tatahakin po nito o papunta po ito dito sa Cagayan Valley," she said.
(We see that this will head toward Cagayan Valley.)
However, there is still a high degree of uncertainty, she added.
PAGASA will continue to monitor developments regarding this weather disturbance, as well as that of Severe Tropical Storm Nika (international name: Toraji). —KG, GMA Integrated News
