PAGASA: Marce makes 2nd landfall over Sanchez-Mira, Cagayan
Typhoon Marce has made its second landfall over Sanchez-Mira, Cagayan, according to PAGASA.
The second landfall was recorded at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday night.
According to PAGASA’s 8:00 p.m. cyclone bulletin, Marce was last seen over the coastal waters of Aparri, Cagayan with maximum sustained winds of 175 kph and gustiness of up to 240 kph.
The northern portion of Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, the northern portion of Apayao, and the northern portion of Ilocos Norte were placed under Signal no. 4, while several areas have been warned of high-risk storm surge over the next 48 hours.
Typhoon Marce will most likely remain a typhoon throughout its movement within the Philippine Area of Responsibility, and will begin to weaken within the next 12 to 24 hours.
Marce is predicted to exit the PAR by Friday afternoon or evening. —NB, GMA Integrated News
