Rainy long weekend expected as public observes Undas

Typhoon Leon and its trough will be the dominant weather systems in the country bringing cloudy skies and rain during the long weekend in which thousands are expected to troop to cemeteries to pay respects to loved ones on All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day.

The state weather bureau PAGASA said on Friday, Occidental Mindoro will still experience scattered to widespread rains while Metro Manila, Ilocos region, CALABARZON, Central Luzon rest of MIMAROPA, Western Visayas Negros Island Region (NIR), Apayao, Babuyan Islands, and Batanes will be cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy skies with the possibility of isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, Occidental Mindoro and Palawan will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy apart from localized rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Strong to typhoon-force winds coming from the northwest to southwest may prevail over Northern Luzon and the eastern section of Central Luzon while oderate to strong westerly to southwesterly winds may affect the rest of the western and eastern sections of the country, while light to moderate winds over the rest of the archipelago. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
