Kristine's trough to affect Occidental Mindoro, Palawan


Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami) will affect parts of Luzon even after exiting the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Friday.

In its weather bulletin at 4 a.m. Saturday, PAGASA said cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms would prevail in Occidental Mindoro and Palawan because of the trough of Kristine.

At 3 a.m., Kristine was located 630 km west of Bacnotan, La Union, carrying maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h and gustiness of up to 115 km/h.

It was moving westward at 20 km/h.

The Southwesterly Windflow will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Visayas, the Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Kong-rey was spotted 1,825 km east of Central Luzon, with maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h and gustiness of up to 80 km/h.

Kong-rey was traveling northwestward at 35 km/h.

Luzon is expected to experience moderate to strong winds and rough waters, while the rest of the country will have slight to moderate winds and moderate to rough waters.
