Parts of PH to experience rainy weekend despite Kristine exit
Several parts of the Philippines are expected to still experience heavy rainfall on Saturday despite the exit of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.
PAGASA weather forecaster Chenel Dominguez said in a press briefing on Friday that moderate to heavy rains, or 50 to 100 mm of rainfall, will be felt in the following areas on Saturday:
- Palawan
- Western Visayas
- Negros Occidental
- the southern portion of Negros Oriental
- Zamboanga Peninsula
Further, PAGASA said that Kristine will still bring strong to gale-force gusts over the following:
Saturday (October 26)
- Palawan
- Romblon
- Western Visayas
- Negros Island Region
- Siquijor
- Bohol
- Southern Leyte
- Zamboanga del Norte
- Camiguin
- Dinagat Islands
- Surigao del Norte
Sunday (October 27)
- Palawan
- Romblon
- Visayas
- Zamboanga del Norte
- Camiguin
- Dinagat Islands
- Surigao del Norte
Kristine, which reportedly killed 46 individuals in the country, has already exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Friday afternoon.
However, state meteorologists explained that Kristine “will continue moving westward over the West Philippine Sea until tomorrow, loop counterclockwise on Sunday and Monday.” —LDF, GMA Integrated News
