PAGASA: Mindanao to have rains due to ITCZ

The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will bring cloudy skies and rains over Mindanao in the next 24 hours, state weather bureau PAGASA said Thursday afternoon in its forecast.

Zamboanga Peninsula, SOCCSKSARGEN, BARMM, Northern Mindanao, Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, and Davao del Sur may see cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ.

Flash floods or landslides may result due to moderate to at times heavy rains, PAGASA said.

The ITCZ will also cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Visayas, Palawan, and the rest of Mindanao.

Meanwhile, Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, and Bicol Region will experience cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

These severe thunderstorms may trigger flash floods and landslides in the affected areas.

State meteorologists also said the country may experience light to moderate wind conditions, and slight to moderate coastal water conditions.

Sunrise will be at 5:48 a.m. on Friday. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/LDF, GMA Integrated News
