Easterlies to bring rain over eastern Luzon, Visayas

The easterlies will bring rains over the eastern parts of Luzon and Visayas in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said in its Monday afternoon forecast.

The state weather bureau said Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Norte, and Camarines Sur may expect cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

Flash floods or landslides may result due to moderate to at times heavy rains, PAGASA said.

The easterlies will also cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and Eastern Visayas.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

These severe thunderstorms may trigger flash floods and landslides in the affected areas.

PAGASA also said the country may experience light to moderate wind conditions, and slight to moderate coastal water conditions.

Sunrise will be at 5:47 a.m. on Tuesday.

State meteorologists earlier said there is a low to moderate chance that a tropical cyclone would form in the PAGASA monitoring domain in the next two weeks.—Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
