Super Typhoon Julian exits PAR —PAGASA

Super Typhoon Julian exited the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Tuesday morning, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.

However, PAGASA said Julian may return inside PAR on Wednesday morning or afternoon.

“At 9:00 AM today (October 1), Super Typhoon JULIAN exited the PAR. It may re-enter PAR tomorrow morning or afternoon,” PAGASA said in a Facebook post.

In its 5 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said Julian is seen to recurve towards the sea southwest of Taiwan on Tuesday through early Wednesday morning.

It will make landfall along the southwestern coast of Taiwan on Wednesday morning or afternoon.

Julian may move northeastward towards the East China Sea and exit the PAR on Thursday afternoon or evening, according to PAGASA.

A total of 77,249 people or 22,645 families were affected by Julian in Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and Cordillera, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said in its report on Tuesday.

Of the affected population, 762 persons or 254 families were staying in evacuation centers while 1,031 individuals or 327 families were taking shelter in other places.

Classes in 253 areas and work schedules in 108 areas were suspended due to Julina.
