Torrential rains affect parts of Metro Manila, 4 Luzon provinces

Metro Manila and four Luzon provinces experienced intense to torrential rains with lightning and strong winds Tuesday afternoon.

In a thunderstorm advisory issued at 3:08 p.m., state weather bureau PAGASA said the affected areas are:

  • Metro Manila (Quezon City, Caloocan, Pasig, San Juan, Manila, Marikina),
  • Bulacan (Bulakan, Hagonoy, Paombong, Malolos, Meycauayan, San Jose del Monte),
  • Batangas (Lemery, Taal, Santa Teresita, San Nicolas, Alitagtag, Cuenca, San Luis, Calaca, Balayan),
  • Zambales (Subic, San Antonio, Botolan, San Marcelino, Cabangan, San Felipe, San Narciso), and
  • Nueva Ecija (Carranglan, Munoz, Cabanatuan, San Antonio, Jaen).

The weather condition may persist within two hours and affect nearby areas.

Affected residents are advised to take precautionary measures against flash floods and landslides.

Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rains with lightning and strong winds are expected over Tarlac, Pampanga, Bataan, Quezon, Rizal, Cavite and Laguna within the next two hours. —AOL, GMA Integrated News
