Habagat to bring rain over extreme northern Luzon

The Southwest Monsoon or Habagat will bring rains over the extreme northern Luzon within the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Sunday in a forecast.

Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, and Ilocos Sur will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to Habagat.

These moderate to at times heavy rains may cause flash floods or landslides.

Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region may also experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by easterlies.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country may expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

These severe thunderstorms may trigger flash floods and landslides in the affected areas.

The state weather bureau also said northern and western sections of Northern Luzon will have strong winds and rough coastal water conditions.

The rest of Luzon would experience moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough coastal water conditions

Meanwhile, coastal waters will be light to moderate while wind conditions will be light to moderate in Visayas and Mindanao.

According to PAGASA Weather Specialist Veronica Torre, there are currently no low pressure areas monitored inside or near the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
