Rains, thunderstorms expected in Luzon, Western Visayas due to Habagat

The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will affect Luzon and Western Visayas in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said in its weather forecast released on Saturday afternoon.

Batanes and the Babuyan Islands will have occasional rains, while Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and Western Visayas will see cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon.

The rest of the country is expected to experience localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.

Strong winds and rough coastal waters will be observed in the northern and western sections of Northern Luzon.

The rest of Luzon will have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters.

Light to moderate winds and light to moderate coastal waters are possible in the rest of the country.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 5:45 a.m. on Sunday. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
