Helen exits PAR

Tropical Storm Helen exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility at 5 p.m. Wednesday, according to the state weather bureau PAGASA.

Helen, which was carrying maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 105 km/h, stayed in the PAR for only a day.

PAGASA said both Helen and the tropical depression formerly known as Gener would continue to strengthen the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and bring strong to gale-force gusts throughout the country.

Helen was forecast to remain a tropical storm and may gradually weaken over the East China Sea. — VBL, GMA Integrated News
