Helen about to exit PAR

Helen about to exit PAR, according to PAGASA

Tropical Storm Helen will leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility in the next three hours, PAGASA said in its 5 p.m. Wednesday bulletin.

At 4 p.m., Helen was located 930 kilometers east northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon, with maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 105 km/h.

It was moving northwestward at 40 km/h.

PAGASA said both Helen and the tropical depression formerly known as Gener would continue to strengthen the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and bring strong to gale-force gusts throughout the country.

Because of Habagat, rains will prevail over Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, the northern portion of Palawan, Western Visayas, the rest of Central Luzon, and the rest of MIMAROPA.

Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will occur over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides may occur due to these weather conditions.

Strong winds and rough coastal waters will be observed in the western section of Luzon, while the rest of the country will experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 5:45 a.m. on Thursday. — with a report from Jiselle Anne Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News
