LPA outside PAR develops into tropical depression


The low pressure area east of Eastern Visayas outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility has developed into a tropical depression.

The low pressure area (LPA) east of Eastern Visayas outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has developed into a tropical depression, state weather bureau PAGASA said on Tuesday. 

“As of 8AM today, the Low Pressure Area (09c) developed into a Tropical Depresion. All are advised to monitor updates from DOST-PAGASA,” PAGASA said in a tropical cyclone update. 

The tropical depression was located 2,320 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas, packing winds of 45 km per hour and gustiness of up to 55 kph. 

It is moving slowly west northwestward. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
