PAGASA: Habagat to bring rains over Luzon

The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will continue to spur rains over parts of Luzon as PAGASA continues to monitor Super Typhoon Yagi (Enteng) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

According to PAGASA’s daily weather forecast, Super Typhoon Yagi was seen 1,000 kilometers west northwest of Central Luzon at around 3 p.m.

It had maximum sustained winds of 185 kph and gustiness of up to 230 kph.

The Habagat will bring occasional rains over Pangasinan, Zambales, and Bataan, and cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Cordillera Administrative Region, MIMAROPA, Cavite, Batangas, Batanes including Babuyan Islands, the rest of Ilocos Region, and the rest of Central Luzon.

It will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, and the rest of CALABARZON.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

Possible flash floods or landslides may occur as a result of said weather condition.

Meanwhile, strong winds with rough waters may be felt in the western and northern sections of Luzon.

The rest of Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough waters, while Visayas and Mindanao will have light to moderate winds with slight to moderate seas.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 5:44 a.m. on Saturday. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/LDF, GMA Integrated News
