Enteng's trough, Habagat to bring rains over parts of Luzon

Enteng's trough, Habagat to bring rains over parts of Luzon

The trough of Typhoon Yagi (formerly Enteng) and Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will bring rains over parts of Luzon in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Wednesday afternoon.

The Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Ilocos Norte, and Ilocos Sur may see cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to Enteng’s trough.

Enteng exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility early Wednesday morning and was moving west northwest slowly. At 3 p.m., the typhoon was located 450 km west northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, with maximum sustained winds of 140 km/h and gustiness of up to 170 km/h.

Meanwhile, monsoon rains may occur over Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro.

The Habagat may also cause occasional rains over Metro Manila, La Union, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Laguna, Oriental Mindoro, Northern Palawan, and the rest of Central Luzon.

Quezon, Marinduque, and Romblon may experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms also due to the Habagat.

State meteorologists also said localized thunderstorms may bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the rest of the country.

PAGASA warned the public against possible flash floods or landslides due to rains or severe thunderstorms.

The western section of Luzon will have strong winds and rough coastal conditions, PAGASA said.

It added that Visayas and Mindanao will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal conditions.

The rest of Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal conditions.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 5:44 am on Thursday. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/VBL, GMA Integrated News
