A low pressure area (LPA) being monitored by PAGASA will bring moderate to heavy rains measuring 50 to 100 mm over Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Davao de Oro, and Davao Oriental on Saturday, the weather bureau said in its 11 a.m. advisory.
At 3 a.m. Saturday, the said LPA was estimated to be located at 695 km east of Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.
On Sunday, Eastern Visayas may possibly have heavy to intense rains measuring 100 to 200 mm, while the Bicol Region and Dinagat Islands may expect moderate to heavy rains measuring 50 to 100mm.
Meanwhile, on Monday, heavy to intense rains measuring 100 to 200 mm are forecast for Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, and Northern Samar.
Moderate to heavy rains measuring 50 to 100 mm may possibly occur over the rest of the Bicol Region and the southern portion of Quezon on Monday.
Palawan, Occidental Mindoro and Antique will also have moderate to heavy rains measuring 50 to 100 mm on Monday due to the Southwest Monsoon.
PAGASA warned that flooding and rain-induced landslides are likely especially in areas highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards and in areas with significant antecedent rainfall.
The weather bureau advised the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned to take the necessary measures to protect life and property. —KG, GMA Integrated News
