LPA seen to enter PAR in 24 hours, may develop into tropical depression

State weather bureau PAGASA is monitoring a low pressure area (LPA) spotted east of Mindanao outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

According to a "24 Oras" report, the LPA may enter PAR within 24 hours and possibly affect the Bicol Region and the Visayas by Sunday.

PAGASA said the LPA may also develop into a tropical depression.

The Southwest Monsoon and localized thunderstorms are likely to bring rains across the country.

Based on its 4 p.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said Palawan may experience flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Meanwhile, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, and Occidental Mindoro will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Due to localized thunderstorms, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. —Sherylin Untalan/LDF, GMA Integrated News
