Intense to torrential rains affect parts of Metro Manila, 8 Luzon provinces

Parts of Metro Manila and eight provinces in Luzon experienced intense to torrential rains with lightning and strong winds Monday afternoon.

In a thunderstorm advisory issued at 1:12 p.m., state weather bureau PAGASA said the affected areas are:

• Manila (Muntinlupa, Las Pinas, Paranaque),
• Laguna (San Pedro, Binan),
• Zambales (Masinloc, Candelaria, Palauig, Iba, Botolan, Santa Cruz),
• Cavite (Bacoor),
• Tarlac (Mayantoc, San Jose, Capas, Bamban),
• Pampanga (Mabalacat, Angeles, Porac, Lubao),
• Bulacan (San Jose del Monte),
• Bataan (Balanga), and
• Rizal (Binangonan, Cardona)

It said the weather condition may persist within two hours and may affect nearby areas.

Affected residents are advised to take precautionary measures against flash floods and landslides.

Meanwhille, moderate to heavy rains with lightning and strong winds are expected over Nueva Ecija, Quezon, and Batangas within the next two hours.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
