Habagat to bring more rains over S. Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao
The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will continue to bring rains over western parts of Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao in the next 24 hours, state weather bureau PAGASA said in a forecast.
Mimaropa, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi could experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to Habagat.
Residents of the affected areas were warned against possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country may see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA said severe thunderstorms may cause possible flash floods or landslides.
The state weather bureau also said the wind and coastal water conditions throughout the country will be light to moderate.
PAGASA weather specialist Ana Clauren-Jorda said Typhoon Shanshan remains outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
It will have no direct effect on the country's weather conditions.
Shanshan was last spotted at 1,725 km east northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon and is not expected to enter PAR, Clauren-Jorda said.
It has maximum sustained winds of 130 km/h and gustiness of up to 160 km/h.
