Habagat to bring cloudy skies, scattered rains over S. Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao
The Southwest Monsoon or habagat will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers over the western sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao on Saturday, PAGASA reported.
The weather bureau is also monitoring a tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
Severe Tropical Storm Shanshan is located 2,055 kilometers east of Central Luzon packing maximum sustained winds at 110 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 135 kph, and moving northward at 15 kph.
MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon with flash floods or landslides possibly occurring due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms with flash floods or landslides occurring during severe thunderstorms.
The wind speed for Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao is light to moderate moving southwestward with slight to moderate coastal waters.
The rest of Luzon will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the northeast to northwest direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.
